Morene Brown, long term resident of Northside and Mount Healthy in the greater Cincinnati Area, passed away peacefully Thursday, June 22, 2017.
Morene was born in 1934 in Liberty to Laura and Jim Allen as the 10th of 13 children. She married Lilburn "Jim" Brown Sr. on Aug. 21, 1950.
Jim preceded her in death in 2004, as did her parents and each of her siblings.
She loved good music and socializing with the many musicians she and Jim met through the years and, prior to her illness, looked forward to regular workouts at the YMCA in Colerain Township. Morene made a point to tell people that she fell in love with every job she had ever done. Those jobs included much, from early farm duties in Liberty then Muncie, Indiana, to decades of factory and seamstress work around the Cincinnati area.
She was a strong woman and steadfast example to her children and grandchildren and if you had a chance to listen, Morene could spin and share a good story from a colorful life.
She is survived by her daughters, Nancy Clark (Dave) and Bernadine Tucker (Brian Bolding); a son, Will Brown; grandchildren, Crystal Meyer, Daniel Tucker, Debby Massingale, Jim Whitaker, Josh Brown, William Brown, Myranda Pimentel; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law; and many extended beloved family members and friends.
The funeral was Tuesday, June 27, at the Ogle & Paul R. Young Funeral Home, 7345 Hamilton Ave., Mount Healthy, OH 45231. An additional graveside service is at 1 p.m. July 3 at Whited Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to The Society of St. Vincent de Paul, 1125 Bank Street, Cincinnati, OH 45214 and to Clippard YMCA, 8920 Cheviot Road, Cincinnati, OH 45251.
