Murrell Eucledis Davenport, 89, of Liberty, passed away Monday, March 20, 2017, in Somerset.

Born on June 4, 1927, he was the son of the late F.A. and Mary Irma Davenport. He attended Liberty Church of Christ. Murrell taught in a one-room schoolhouse and he later chose to defend his country in the Korean War. He was an avid fox hunter and enjoyed breeding fox hounds.

He is survived by his loving wife, Drama "LaVerne" Davenport; two daughters, Glenda Davenport Powers of Tarpon Springs, Florida, and Kimberly Davenport of Nashville, Tennessee; a son, Allen Davenport of Liberty; a sister, Jeneane Price of Somerset; a grandson,
Ryan Floyd of Liberty; and a great-grandson, Logan Dale Floyd.

A graveside service was Thursday, March 23, at Antioch Cemetery with Brother J.D. McDonald officiating.
