Nina E. Rubarts died at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center on Sunday, August 23, 2015. She was born on March 19, 1922 to Owen L. Ellis and Minnie Henson Ellis, who preceded her in death.
She was married to Leland G. Rubarts on July 9, 1947, who also preceded her in death.
Mrs. Rubarts is survived by her three children, Virginia Ann Rubarts, Judith Ellis Rubarts, and Leland G. Rubarts II.
During World War II, Mrs. Rubarts worked in a map office in Louisville, Ky. then she returned to Casey County where she taught for seven years at Red Hill. After leaving the pedagogical community, Mrs. Rubarts worked as a postal clerk at Dunnville, Ky.; Officer -in-Charge at Yosemite, Ky.; and postal clerk at Russell Springs, Ky. She retired from the postal service in 1981 after 31 years of service.
Mrs. Rubarts was a member of the Dunnville Christian Church until 1968. Then, she moved her membership to the Antioch Christian Church where she attended until she was no longer able to do so. As a member of both churches, she played an active role, especially teaching Sunday school classes.
Mrs. Rubarts' burial will be private, but a Memorial Service will be held at the Antioch Cemetery on Saturday, Aug. 29, 2015 at 10 a.m. Virginia Ann Rubarts and Aaron Cain will officiate the service.
In lieu of flowers, donation may be given to the Danville Humane Society.
