Opal Bernard, 83, of Dunnville, passed Friday, Oct. 21, 2016, at Russell County Hospital.

Born June 5, 1933, in Casey County. She was the daughter of the late Columbus Roy and Lorene Miller Roy Chapman. Opal was a homemaker and mill worker. She loved flowers and being outside.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Attis Bernard, who died March 10, 2008; a son, Darrell Bernard; and five brothers, Ronald Gene, Bobby, Lester, Freddie and Kellie Roy.

Survivors include a son, Johnny Joe (Regina) Bernard of Russell Springs; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Jackie Roy; and three sisters, Louise Thomas, Brenda Wilson and Josephine Wilson, all of Liberty.

The funeral is at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 26, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home in Liberty with Brother Hershel Lawhorn officiating. Burial follows in Thomas Ridge Cemetery.

Visitation is from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and continues at 8 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
