Polly "Dolly" Mae Chadwell Black, 81, of Windsor, passed away Sunday, May 7, 2017, at Casey County Hospital.

She was born on April 2, 1936, at home in Casey County to the late Cleo Chadwell and Polly Ellen Chadwell Roberts. She married Junior "Lewis" Black on Jan. 15, 1955, and they spent most of their married life near Franklin, Indiana. She worked at several jobs, retiring as a nurses' aide from Johnson County Memorial Hospital in Franklin, Indiana. In 2003, she and Lewis retired to Windsor, Kentucky.

She is survived by her husband, Lewis Black, who currently resides at Liberty Care Center in Liberty; two sons, Keith (Sandy) Black of Bloomington, Indiana, and Kenneth (Debbie) Black of Lexington, South Carolina; a daughter, Linda Owens of Windsor; six grandchildren, Susie (Andy) Woomer, Brian Black, Jeremy (Ashlyn) Black, Angelia Butler, Kristina (Cory) Via and Amanda (Jay) Brigman; 11 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Doris Edens of Bethelridge, Mary Ballard of Lexington, June (Andy) Forbes of Nicholasville and Sue Hensley of Liberty; and three brothers, Jack Chadwell of Windsor, Garfield Chadwell of Liberty and Bill (Sue) Chadwell of Franklin, Indiana; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Chadwell; and a grandson, Kristopher Black.

The funeral is at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 10, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home in Liberty with Brother Johnny Maupin officiating. Burial follows in South Fork Cemetery.

Visitation is from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, May 9, at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are Jeremy Black, Jay Brigman, Brian Black, Cory Via and Mike Harmon.
