Ralph Henry Thompson, 92, passed away Friday, April 15, 2016, at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.
Born Nov. 12, 1923, in Casey County, he was a son of the late Jonas "Joe" Bedon Thompson and Mary Belle Lawson Thompson.
He was a former factory worker and feed mill worker. Mr. Thompson was also a farmer and a proud U.S. Army World War II veteran. He was a faithful member of the Hilltop Church of Christ.
Survivors include his dear wife, whom he wed on May 31, 1948, Juanita Poff Thompson; a son, David (Jill) Thompson of Liberty;a daughter, Brenda (Donald) Mason of Liberty; a sister, Beulah Bussell of Lexington; and a granddaughter, Amanda Thompson of Lexington.
He was preceded in death by a son, Randy Phillip Thompson; three brothers, Sylvester, Otha, and Obea Thompson; and six sisters, Ethel Thompson, Leathia Campbell, Oda Reeves, Opal Cochran, Martha Tarter, and Mary Luttrell.
Funeral services were April 18 at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with burial in Glenwood Cemetery with military honors by the Casey County Veterans Honor Guard.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Ralph Thompson may be given to the Wounded Warriors Project.
