Ronald Ray Atwood of Mt. Washington passed away Saturday, March 2, 2013 surrounded by his family. He was 70. Ronnie was a native of Casey County, a retired employee of Ford Motor Co., an avid golfer and ranger for Tanglewood, a member of Salt River Masonic Lodge #180, UAW Local 862, Mt. Washington Lions Club, and Bethel United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Frieda Verona Wright Atwood; a daughter, Vicki Huff (and Dean); a son, Brent Atwood (and Belinda); three sisters, Roxie Peavey, Eveleen Miller and Carol Emmerson; a brother, Dewey Atwood; four beloved grandchildren, Brandon and Brittany Huff, and Christina and Savannah Atwood; and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday, March 8 at Bethel United Methodist Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Thursday, March 7 at McFarland-Troutman-Proffitt Funeral Home and after 9 a.m. Friday at the church.
