Obituary

Roy C. York died Thursday, Aug. 1, 2013 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Grant County. He was 79. Born Nov. 13, 1933 in Waynesville, Mo., he was the son of late William and Effie Gann York. He was a U.S. Army veteran. Survivors include his wife, Beulah L. Grider Morgan York of Stamping Ground; four children, Calvin York, Terry York, Brenda Wood and Sherry Sundell, all of Missouri; three step-daughters, Brenda Offutt and Carolyn Poff, both of Stamping Ground, and Bernice Hines of Georgetown; 17 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren; five sisters; and a brother. Funeral services were Aug. 5 at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home with Bro. Dennis Morgan officiating. Burial was at Willow Springs Cemetery with military honors by the Casey County Funeral Squad.
