Sarah Delk Moore, 79, of Geneva, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 21, 2018, at University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center in Lexington.

Sarah was born April 8, 1938, in Middleburg, the daughter of Fred and Ruth Adams Delk. Sarah was a 1956 graduate of Middleburg High School. She worked at Western Electric in Indianapolis, was a homemaker in Van Meter, Iowa and later in Indianapolis and was produce manager at Food Fair in Stanford. Sarah enjoyed family get togethers, the outdoors, gardening, playing games, working puzzles and was an avid sports fan especially of University of Kentucky basketball.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by six brothers, Fred Delk Jr., James Delk, Ray Delk, Jack Delk, Johnny Delk and her twin, Jerry Delk; and three sisters, Fay Thompson, Peggy Melton and Judy Clark.

Survivors include her husband, Gene Walter Moore; two sons, Roy Daniel Moore (June) of McKinney and Jeff Scott Moore (Kim) of Jumbo; a daughter, Mary Katherine Fakharpour of Lexington; a sister, Sue Thompson (Howard) of Springfield, Tennessee; seven grandchildren, Melanie Coffman Grosjean (Joel), Daniel Moore, Derick Moore (Samantha), Laura Coffman Parker (Robbie), Megan Moore Mason (Jerrett), Emily Moore Hamm (Jessie) and Kayvan Fakharpour; three great-grandchildren, Claire, Tuck and Bode; many nieces, nephews and other beloved family members.

The funeral is at 1 p.m. March 3, at Spurlin Funeral Home Chapel in Stanford with Brother Bob Kiper officiating. A private family interment will be held at a later time.

Visitation is from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
