Travis Black of Yosemite died Friday, Nov. 1, 2013 at Jean Waddle Care Center. He was 85. Born in Humphrey on July 25, 1928, he was the son of the late Calvin Tad and Esther Garner Black. He was a lifelong farmer and a member of Mt. Olive Christian Church. Survivors include his wife, Virginia Lee Patterson Black; a daughter, Brenda (and Barry) Wooten of Hustonville; two sons, Gary (and Karen) Black of Liberty and Greg (and Stephanie) Black of Snellville, Ga.; grandchildren, Jared and Jeffrey Wooten, and Bradley and Ryan Travis Black; great-grandchildren, Journey, Jenasis, Levi and Laci Wooten, and Evan and Mason Tarter; siblings, Mildred Ross and Sherrill Black, both of California, and Clara McQueen of Eubank. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Jennie Black Tarter; and a sister, Margie McCoy. Funeral services were Nov. 4 at Bartle Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Greg Powell officiating. Burial was at Durham Cemetery. Pallbearers were Barry, Jared and Jeffrey Wooten, Lee Walls and Brad and Ryan Black.
