William A. Farmer of Campbellsville died Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2013 in Greensburg. He was 79. Born March 15, 1934 in Jackson County, he was the son of the late Ray Farmer and Minnie Parker Farmer. He professed faith in Christ and was a member of South Campbellsville Baptist Church. He was a retired employee of Chandler's Office Supply in Campbellsville. He united in marriage to Betty Hayes March 21, 1953. In addition to his wife, survivors include a son and two daughters, Richard Farmer (and wife, Sue) and Connie Humphress (and husband, David), both of Campbellsville, and Cathy Spear (and husband, Lonnie) of Elizabethtown; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a sister, Mildred Wells of Dayton, Ohio; several nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters, Edgar Farmer, Ted Farmer, Jerry Farmer, Paul Farmer, Ruth Johnson and Thelma Philbeck. A graveside service was held Aug. 24 at the Old Antioch Cemetery in Casey County. Family members served as pallbearers. The family members request that expressions of sympathy be donations to Gideon Bibles and may be made at the Parrott and Ramsey Funeral Home. Parrott and Ramsey Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
