William Isaac Haggard, 80, passed away Saturday, Oct. 1, 2016, in Middleburg.

Born Nov. 23, 1935, in Casey County, he was the son of the late George Washington and Sarah Jane Hodge Haggard. Mr. Haggard was a member of Middleburg United Methodist Church. He was a farmer and a U.S. Navy veteran. He was the former custodian of Middleburg Elementary School.

Survivors include his son, George Haggard (fiancé, Candy Wesley); two sisters, Edith Harmon and Mary Mobray; two grandchildren, Raven and Draken; and a special friend, Dorothy Scott.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Elmore Haggard; two brothers, Chester and Arvil Haggard; and a sister, Stella Gaunce.

The funeral is at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 4, at McKinney-Brown Funeral Home in Liberty with the Rev. Bill Hill officiating. Burial follows with military honors by Casey County Honor Guard in Rich Hill Cemetery.

Visitation is from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Memorial donations are suggested to Hospice of Lake Cumberland.
