Woodrow W. "Woodie" Rodgers, 78, of Stanford passed away Thursday, June 15, 2017.

Born Dec. 9, 1938, he was the son of the late Jessie and Rosa Wilson Rodgers. During his prime, he enjoyed riding in rodeos. He liked cows and horses, collecting coins and, most of all, he loved University of Kentucky basketball.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Sandra K. Darrough Rodgers; a son, Woody Rodgers Jr. of Florida; three stepdaughters, Kayelynn (John) Judy of Hustonville, Melinda Wissig of Texas and Michele Jackson of Texas; two brothers, Tommy (June) Rodgers of Liberty and Cecil (Vicky) Rodgers of Ohio; a sister, Lucy (Josh) Hines of Ohio; four granddaughters, Heather, Danielle, Claire and Lianna; six grandsons, Matt, Stephen, Ryan, Michael, Blake and Grant; six great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and family friends.

A private memorial service will be held at a later date at a cemetery in Casey County.
