Germaine F. Walbeck, age 80, of North East, MD, passed away on Tuesday, January 30, 2018, at Christiana Hospital in Newark, DE surrounded by her loving family. She was born on February 2, 1937, in Philadelphia, PA to the late Daniel C. and Germaine Carr Ford.
Gerry worked in her early years as a registered nurse at the Perry Point Veteran's Hospital. An avid sports fan, she enjoyed watching college football, especially Penn State, and she looked forward to the Little League World series every summer. She was a longtime member of St. Mary Anne's Episcopal Church and also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. In her spare time, Gerry enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, and going to the beach with her late husband, Richard. Her greatest joy came from being a grandmother to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who will miss her dearly.
She is survived by her children, Richard Walbeck and his wife, Rene', of Galena, MD, Sharon Wells and her husband, Scott, of North East, MD, and Sandi Lasako and her husband, Keith, of North East, MD; grandchildren, Gary, Ryan, Megan, Kali, and Madison and great-grandchildren, Reid, Ella, and Graham.
In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Richard Douglas Walbeck.
A Funeral Mass will be held 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at St. Mary Anne's Episcopal Church, 315 South Main Street, North East, MD 21901. Friends and family may visit one hour prior to the service beginning at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contribution checks can be made to "Shriner's Hospital for Children" and sent c/o R.T. Foard Funeral Home, P.A., 259 East Main Street, Elkton, MD 21921.

I am so very sorry to hear of Gerry's passing. She was a beautiful and wonderful woman who's first love, after your father, was for the three of you and your happiness and success. I have no doubt you made her very proud, and I know she was very loved.
