She was born Sept. 7, 1920 in Melrose to Thomas and Hester (Greene) Rountree. She moved to Williston in 1961 from Chiefland.
She was of the Baptist faith and a member of the First Baptist Church of Williston where she was the secretary of Sunday School and a Sunday School teacher. She was very involved with Vacation Bible School.
She was also a member of the Williston Women's Club. She drove the bookmobile around Levy and Citrus counties for many years. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening and going to Mexican restaurants.
She is survived by her sons, Robert E. (Brenda) Philpot Jr., Stephen I. (Jan) Philpot; daughter, Carol (Mike) Dicento; brother, Donald Rountree; grandchildren Ryan, Erin, Judson, Rob, Amber, Robbie, Stephanie, Amy and Kyle and great- grandchildren Fox, Weston and Brenna.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. "Bob" Philpot Sr.
Funeral services were at First Baptist Church, Williston with the Rev. Jerry Cottone officiating. Interment followed at Orange Hill Cemetery.
