CLINTON - Elmer 'Lee' Brewer Jr., 79, of Clinton, passed away Friday, Feb. 5, 2010 at Mercy Medical Center North.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Feb. 9 at 11 a.m. at Lemke Funeral Home South Chapel, 2610 Manufacturing Drive in Clinton. Pastor Bill Huff will officiate. Visitation will be Monday, from 4 to to 7 p.m. at Lemke Funeral Home South Chapel.
Elmer was born February 2, 1931 in Blythsville, Ark. to Elmer and Gladys (Mancel) Brewer. Elmer married Iona (Caven) on June 14, 1953 in Camanche, Iowa. He was a member of the National Guard for 10 years in both Iowa and Illinois. He worked at ADM for 39 1/2 years, achieving the leadership role of foreman.
Elmer managed and played baseball, and enjoyed fishing, reading, and hunting. He also enjoyed the outdoors, had a love for animals, wood working, traveling, family and friends.
Survivors include: his wife Iona, of Clinton; four daughters, Debra (Jim) McClenning of Vinton; Lisa (Tom) Boeckmann of Vinton; Theresa (Steve) Rieger of Andover, Iowa; and Melissa Brewer of Clinton; three sons, Randy Brewer of Clinton; Tim Brewer of Chicago and Thomas (Julie) Brewer of Clinton; daughter-in-law Mary Brewer of Florida; 19 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; three sisters, Pat (Joe) Leek of Hopkinsonville, Ky.; Alice (Michael) Jackson of Metropolis, Ill.; Barb Brewer of Metropolis, Ill.; one brother, Willard (Judy) Brewer of Metropolis, Ill.; one sister in-law Wanda Walford of Straton, Ill.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one son, Donald, one grandson, Mitchell, two sisters and two brothers.
