Nicholas A. Peragine

Nicholas A. Peragine October 6, 1949 - May 5, 2008 Nicholas A. Peragine, 58, of State College, died Monday, May 5, 2008. Born Oct. 6, 1949, in the Bronx, N.Y., he was a son of Anthony Peragine of Florida and Rose Gugliamenti Peragine of Philadelphia, Pa. He was married Aug. 22, 1976, to Barbara Reisert who survives at home. Nick served in the Army during the Vietnam conflict and worked in a variety of positions; patient assistant/aide, painter, and handyman, always finding ways to assist others who needed a helping hand. He loved decorating for Christmas, and his home was named a Starlight Home on the CATA bus holiday tour three years in a row. He also loved to bar-b-que, the New York Yankees, trips to Ocracoke, N.C., and spending time with his family and friends. Along with his wife, he is survived by two children, Christopher and Melissa both of State College; two grandchildren, Zander and Leah; and numerous beloved family and friends. A memorial Mass will be held 10:00 a.m., Wed., May 7, 2008, at Good Shepherd Roman Catholic Church, 867 Grays Woods Blvd. A gathering of attendees will follow the Mass at the Gathering Space at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Centre County United Way, 2790 West College Avenue, Suite 7, State College, PA 16801. Arrangements are under the direction of Koch Funeral Home, State College.
