
Gerald B. Henderson November 23, 1928 - December 4, 2012 Gerald B. Henderson, 84, of State College, formerly of Altoona and Hollidaysburg, died Tuesday at his residence after an extended illness. Jerry was the son of the late Edgar M. and Augusta (Pasekoff) Henderson. He is survived by his longtime companion, Susan Hill, of State College; three sons, Edward and wife, Kathy, of Hollidaysburg, Evan and wife, Linda, of Hollidaysburg, Matthew and wife, Brandee, of Weston, Mass.; and daughter, Megan, of Boston, Mass.; grandsons, Evan, Charles and Daniel Henderson; and step-granddaughters, Jessica and Laura Schocker. Jerry was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Henderson. Jerry was a 1949-B graduate of Virginia Military Institute and a graduate of Washington and Lee University. Jerry was a U.S.
Army Veteran, serving as a sergeant in the
Korean War. He was the President of Saf-T-Bak, Inc., formerly known as the Altoona Overall Company, which was founded by Jerry's grandfather, Morris Henderson, in 1904. Jerry was a member of the
Rotary Club of Altoona, Spruce Creek Rod and Gun Club, and served on the Boards of Mercy Hospital and Charleston South Carolina Symphony Orchestra. He was also a former member of Temple Beth Israel. Jerry will be fondly remembered for his roles in several Altoona Community Theater productions. Funeral services will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Interment at Mt. Sinai Cemetery. The family requests that memorial contributions be made in Jerry's memory to Central Pennsylvania Community Foundation 1330 11th Ave., Altoona, PA 16601. Arrangements are by E.
