James Paul (Jim) Brown

James Paul (Jim) Brown November 19, 1939 September 14, 2013 James Paul "Jim" Brown, 73, of Bellefonte, passed away Saturday, September 14, 2013, at Centre Crest Nursing Home. Born on November 19, 1939, in Bellefonte, he was the son of the late David C. and Helen (Letterman) Brown. On May 9, 1959, married Jane Wheeland, who survives at home. He was a 1957 graduate of Bellefonte Area High School. Jim retired from Cerro Copper and Brass in 1998. He was a veteran who served in the United States Navy. For his services he received the Good Conduct Medal and received a Letter of Commendation for his services in Byrd Station, Antarctica. Jim enjoyed hunting, fishing and attending his grandchildren's sporting events. Along with his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Michaele Yearick (Wayne) of Bellefonte, Janell Burger (Chris) of Bellefonte; two sons, Greg Brown (Belinda) of Bellefonte, Todd Brown of Bellefonte; and four brothers, Dave, George, Denny and Frank. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, Brett Brown (Lorinda), Tara Tomco (Brad), Lacie Smith, Cody Smith, Trey Burger, Brianna Burger, Chantale Brown, Damon Brown; and six great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Shirley, Nancy, Kate; and one brother, Michael. A public viewing will be held on Tuesday, September 17, 2013, from 6-8 p.m. at Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc., 206 N. Spring Street, Bellefonte. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 18, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Rob Tevis officiating.
