Jesse M. Sprankle Jr. August 7, 1954 September 6, 2013 Jesse M. Sprankle, Jr., 59, of Port Matilda, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Friday, Sept. 6, 2013, at the Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. He was born August 7, 1954, at Philipsburg, a son of the late Jesse M. and Mary E. (Emel) Sprankle, Sr. He is survived by a brother Gary L. Sprankle of Tyrone; several aunts; one uncle; and many cousins and friends. He was a lifelong resident of Port Matilda. He was a graduate of Tyrone Area High School in 1973, and attended the Hannah United Methodist Church where he was very active. He enjoyed his motorcycle, driving his "Lincoln" and making trips to New York. He liked to work the backhoe, visiting shut-ins and praying for everyone who he felt needed prayer. He was very generous and a person with a compassionate giving nature. He retired Dec. 31, 2011, after 39 years on the Custodial Staff of the State College School District. Friends will be received at the Derman Funeral Home, Inc., Tyrone, on Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. where services will be held Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2013, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Clair Pannebaker officiating. Interment will follow at New Union Cemetery, East of Unionville. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory may be offered to the Hannah United Methodist Church, Rt. 220, Port Matilda, PA 16870.
