Edward A. Facer Sr. April 5, 1943 February 22, 2014 Mr. Edward A. Facer Sr., age 70, of Port Matilda, went home to be with his Lord and Savior at his home on Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014. He was born in Allentown, the son of the late Richard T. Facer Sr. and Betty Emma (Kerstetter) Facer. He was a member of the Port Matilda Baptist Church and a Navy veteran having served in the Vietnam War. Mr. Facer graduated from State College Area High School, Class of 1961, and was retired from Corning Class as a ware handler and janitor. He is survived at home by his wife Wanda, whom he married on July 1, 1972. Other survivors include his daughters, Elizabeth Ann Gerst and her husband, James Michael Gerst, of Savage, Md., and Kathy Nichole Muir and her husband Pastor Joseph Muir, of Clearfield; son, Edward Allen Facer, Jr., of Jersey Shore; seven grandchildren, James Edward Gerst, Lynn Ann Dipko, Levi Matthew Muir, Megan Elizabeth Gerst, Leah Elizabeth Muir, Katie Marie Muir, and Samuel Eli Muir; and two brothers, Richard T. Facer Jr. and his wife Kay, of Pleasant Gap, and Earnest L. Facer and his wife Sue, of Bellefonte. Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2014, at Port Matilda Baptist Church with Rev. Ryan Smith officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Howard, with Military Honors accorded by the Osceola Mills Honor Guard. Visitation will be Monday from 6-8 p.m. and Tuesday from 10 a.m. to funeral time at the church. Heath Funeral Home-Osceola Mills is in charge of arrangements.
