Elaine Huber Makepeace September 3, 1928 May 11, 2014 Elaine Huber Make- peace nee Epley died May 11, 2014, in Cape May, N.J. from complications of a stroke. She is predeceased by her husband, Russell Makepeace, and her first husband, Robert Huber. She is survived by four daughters: Pamela Huber, Paige Huber, Robyn Huber and Melannie Huber; 10 grandchildren; and one great grandchild. Elaine was born at Philadelphia Women's Hospital on September 3, 1928. She grew up in Lansdowne. She graduated from Shippensburg Teachers College in 1952, and worked as an elementary school teacher in State College before her children were born. Later she worked as a preschool teacher, finally she worked at Penn State University where she retired. She was a long time resident of State College. She enjoyed sewing and knitting for her children and grandchildren. She loved the beach, western movies and traveling. Memorial services will be held at Victorian Towers, Cape May, N.J. on Thursday May 15, 2014, at 1:00 p.m. Graveside service will be on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at Centre County Memorial Park, State College. In lieu of flowers, we ask you to donate to the Cape May Rescue Squad that helped Elaine many times: Cape May Rescue, 712 Franklin St., Cape May, NJ 08204. She will be missed by all who knew her, especially her daughters who loved her deeply.
