James W. Wagner Sr. March 27, 1923 September 13, 2013 James W. Wagner Sr., 90, of Bellefonte, passed away Friday, September 13, 2013, at Centre Crest Nursing Home. He was born on March 27, 1923, in Port Matilda. He was the son of the late Boyd and Hazel Wagner. He was married to Helen Cressly, who preceded him in death. James was a graduate of the Port Matilda High School. He worked at Penn State University in the Office of the Physical Plant. James was a veteran who served in the United States Army during WWII. For his services he received the Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal, European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with one bronze star, and World War II Victory Medal. He is survived by two sons, Robert J. Wagner and fianc e Jackie of Bellefonte and James W. Wagner, Jr. and wife Rosella of State College, and grandsons Kevin and Tony Wagner, both of State College. Also surviving are his sister, Geraldine Long, and sister-in-law, Jean, of Port Matilda. Along with his parents and wife he was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, John. There will be a public visitation held on Monday, September 16, 2013, from 1-2 p.m. at Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc. in Bellefonte with funeral services to immediately follow at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Rob Tevis officiating.
