James Wesley Lippincott November 6, 1921 May 3, 2014 James Wesley Lippincott, 92, of Pleasant Gap, formerly of Altoona, passed away Saturday at Mount Nittany Medical Center. He was born in Phillipsburg, N.J., son of the late Charles M. Lippincott Sr. and Elizabeth I. (Morrison) Lippincott. James, known as "Bubby" to his family, was married to Betty L. Winnaugle on Dec. 28, 1949. She preceded him in death on Nov. 22, 1980. James is survived by two daughters, Nancy and Sandra, and a granddaughter, Madison, all of Pleasant Gap; a sister, Ruth L. Heiss, of State College; a brother, Charles M. Lippincott Jr., of Grover Beach, Calif.; an uncle and aunt, Charles and Reba Morrison, of Easton; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was also preceded in death by a sister; Ethel E. Davidson. James was a 1939 graduate of Altoona High School and was a US Army Veteran having served in the South Pacific during WWII from 1942 to 1946. He worked for the Bell Telephone Company in Altoona for over thirty years, retiring in 1984. James enjoyed sports and during his lifetime, he was an avid golfer and fisherman. He also enjoyed camping, boating and trains. Friends will be received from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, May 6, 2014, and 3-7 p.m. Wednesday, May 7, 2014, at E.
