Paul A. Yuhouse November 30, 1955 March 12, 2014 Paul A. Yuhouse, 58, a Retired Pennsylvania State Trooper, of Mt. Pleasant died Wednesday evening, March 12, 2014, at Excela Health Frick Hospital, Mt. Pleasant while being comforted by his loving family. He was born November 30, 1955, in Mt. Pleasant, a son of Andrew P. Yuhouse, with whom he resided, and the late Loretta H. Glowacki Yuhouse, who died December 29, 2002. He was a member of the Partner Parish of St. Joseph R.C. Church, Everson. Paul was a graduate of Southmoreland High School Class of 1973, and Penn State College in 1977, obtaining a bachelor's degree in Criminology and also a graduate of Pennsylvania State Police Academy of Hershey, in 1985. Following his graduation from the Academy, Paul was stationed with the Philipsburg Barracks for 16 years, attaining the rank of Trooper. Previously he was a part-time police officer for Mt. Pleasant Borough and a full time officer for the city of Connellsville for seven years attaining the rank of Corporal. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, Hollidaysburg Lodge #57, The American Association of State Trooper, Inc. since 1992, and a former member of the Connellsville Lions Club. He was also a Life member of the Penn State Alumni Association and a member of the FOE of Tyrone. Paul's devotion and love were unconditional and never ending for his family, friends and colleagues. He is survived by his father, Andrew P. Yuhouse, who was also his caregiver. Paul was a loving and caring father to his two children: Ashley A. Yuhouse, of State College and Joshua P.Yuhouse, of Norwalk, Conn.; his brother and sister and their children: Richard F. Yuhouse, of Mt. Pleasant and his son, Ian, Cynthia L. Szczygiel and husband, Daniel, and their children, Amanda and husband, Adam McCune and Selina Szczygiel, all of Mt. Pleasant; his two aunts: Dorothy and husband, James "Pony" Misiak, and Beatrice Glowacki, all of Mt. Pleasant; his four uncles: Louie Yuhouse and wife Virginia, of Kingview, Albert Yuhouse, of Mt. Pleasant, Julius Yuhouse, of Hunker and Steve Yuhouse, of Youngwood. In addition to his mother, Paul was preceded in death by: aunts and uncles: Joseph and John Yuhouse, Margaret Yuhouse, Ethel Hileman, Ray Rudnik, Eldora and Henry Glowacki,and Florian Glowacki, Priscilla Mozden, Regina Rudnik, Bernard Glowacki and Jane Yuhouse. His maternal grandparents: Michael and Helen Lewandowski Glowacki. His paternal grandparents: Joseph and Roseille Siece Yuhouse Paul's family will greet friends in the Frank Kapr Funeral Home, Inc. 417 W. Pittsburgh St., Scottdale, Sunday from 6-8 p.m. and Monday 2-4 and 68 p.m. Prayers of Transfer will be held Tuesday at 10:15 a.m. in the Funeral Home followed by his Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. in the Partner Parish of St. Joseph R.C. Church, Everson, with his Pastor, Rev. Andrew M. Kawecki, as Celebrant. Committal services and interment will follow in St. Joseph Parish Cemetery, Everson with full State Police Honors accorded at the gravesite by the Pennsylvania State Police Ceremonial Unit. It is Paul's and his family's wishes that memorials be directed in his name to Huntingdon's Disease Society Of America (HDSA), 505 Eighth Avenue, Suite 902, New York, NY 10018. St John Ministry of Consolation will conduct a Vigil Service Monday at 1:30 p.m. in the funeral home.
