Shannon Ripka Riedel January 1, 1972 December 13, 2013 Shannon Ripka Riedel, 41, of Bluefield, W.Va., died Friday December 13, 2013, at Bluefield Re- gional Medical Center in Bluefield. Born January 1, 1972, in Bellefonte, she was a daughter of Don Ripka and wife Kim, of Chambersburg and the late Carol Ann Boone Ripka. Shannon was a graduate of Fulda High School in Germany. She received her B.S. degree from Temple University, a Masters Degree from Ohio State University, and a Ph.D. in Nursing from the University of Virginia. She worked at the Mayo Clinic in Scottsdale, Ariz. and most recently at the Behavioral Health Pavilion of the Virginias. Shannon was also a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, serving as 1st Lieutenant. In addition to her father, she is survived by her husband, Don Bobbitt, of the home; daughter, Carolyn Dawn Bobbitt, of the home; grandmothers, Peggy Brooks, of Bellefonte and Beatrice Boone, of Milesburg; brothers, Kevin Stem, of Pennsylvania and Kenneth Stem, of Lock Haven; sisters, Lisa Ambroe and husband, C.J., of Johnstown; and Suzanne Ripka, of Chambersburg; and two step-brothers, Tyler Keele, of Fort Wayne, Ind. and Zachary Keele, of Waynesboro.
