Steven Martin Odland June 30, 1948 November 4, 2013 Steven Martin Odland, 65, of State College, died Monday November 4, 2013 at his home. Born June 30, 1948, in Bellefonte, a son of the late Martin L. Odland and Ethel G. Wentzel. On October 31, 1981, in State College, at the Grace Lutheran Church, he married Linda L. Losch who survives at home. In addition to his wife he is survived by one daughter, Angel Odland, of State College; two sons, Leonard (Glenda), of Julian and Donald, of Lock Haven; two brothers, Ronald (Beverly), of State College and Gerald (Dianne), of West Friendship, Md.; 11 grandchildren, Sabrina, Michael, Paul, Christopher, Lacey, Damian, Haley, Zachary, Steven, Joshua and Kaitlynn; and two nephews, Brian and Kevin. Steven served in the US Navy on the USS Long Beach during the Vietnam War. He was proud to be a Veteran. In June 2013, he retired from the Visual Arts Department at Penn State University after 32 years of service. He was a 1967 State College graduate, a member of the Grace Lutheran Church in State College, a member of the Local Eight Union where he served as a Union Stewart and a member of the VFW Post 265 in State College. Steven enjoyed deep sea fishing and he was an avid woodworker, a great husband, dad, and grandpa. He loved spending time with his family, and his pets. Along with his parents, he is preceded by his brother, Sheldon and a granddaughter, Melissa. Friends will be received from 6-8 p.m. Friday, November 8, 2013, at the Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Services, 1034 Benner Pike, State College, PA 16801, and 1-2 p.m. Saturday, November 9, 2013, at the Grace Lutheran Church, 205 S. Garner Street, State College, where a Funeral Service will follow at 2 p.m. with Revered P. zdtevens Lynn officiating. Internment will follow at Centre County Memorial Park with military honors. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Steven's name may be made to Wounded Warriors, PO Box 758517 Topeka, KS 6675 or to SPCA, 2451 General Potter Hwy., Centre Hall, PA 16828.
