Ann E. Thompson March 1, 1931 January 3, 2013 Ann E. Thompson, 81, of Tyrone, formerly of Port Matilda died Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013, at Tyrone Hospital. She was born March 1, 1931, in Altoona a daughter of Earl G. and Ruby (Austen) Miller. On August 2, 1952, in Altoona she married Clarence C. Thompson. He died in May, 1998. Surviving are a daughter Diane Moore and husband, Frederick, of Tyrone; two sons, David C. and wife, Wanda, of Unionville and Donald E. and wife, Sally, of Coplay; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a brother, John C. Miller, of Easton. Ann and her husband Peter were owner's of Thompson's Hardware Store, Port Matilda from June 1959 until June 1992. She was a member of the Church of the Good Shepherd, Tyrone and was a 1949 graduate of Altoona High School. Ann enjoyed her grandchildren, quilting and reading. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Jan. 5, 2013, at 4 p.m., at Feller Memorial Home, with the Rev. Aden Wertz officiating. Interment will be at Blair Memorial Park. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Saturday from 1 p.m. until the time of services.
