Bernard J. Drayer August 27, 1933 December 22, 2013 Bernard J. Drayer, 80, of Bellefonte, passed away Sunday, December 22, 2013, at Centre Crest. Born August 27, 1933, in Harrisburg, he was a son of the late Adam C. and Miriam (Sheriff) Drayer. On February 18, 1972, he married Evelyn "May" Lucas, who preceded him in death seven days ago on December 15, 2013. He was previously married to Patricia Ann Yeatts who preceded him in death in 2010. Bernard was a 1952 graduate of Susquehanna High School. He worked for Bethlehem Steel for 10 years, for GE in the Hot Pointe division and Sears. He retired in 2001 from the Camp Hill Boscovs as the manager of carpet and bedding. He enjoyed Penn State football and held season passes for over 35 years. He is survived by two children, Gary (Sandra) Drayer, of Hershey and Sheri Reifsnyder, of Harrisburg; three step-children, Wayne (Carol) Vonada, of Pleasant Gap, Jerry (Lee Dorey) Vonada, of Bellefonte and Janet (Robert) Novosel, of Howard; 10 siblings, Doris Simpson, of Harrisburg, William (Sandy) Drayer, of Arkansas, Wayne (Nancy) Drayer, of Harrisburg, Myron Drayer, of Middletown, Shirley Swope, of New Cumberland, Bernice Drayer, of Camp Hill, Virginia (William) Keller, of Middletown, Roland (Lori) Drayer, of Dillsburg, Albert (Shelly) Drayer, of Middletown, and James(Sharon) Drayer, of Harrrisbug; and seven grandchildren, Sarah, Aaron, Bridget, Rosanna and Crystal Keckler, Katrina Lontz and Remington Reifsnyder; six step-grandchildren, Doug, Greg and Karen Vonada, Laurie (Ralph) Capparelle, and Jeff (Holly) and Kevin Novosel; one great step-grandson, Nathan Capparelle; and numerous nieces and nephews. A joint visitation for Bernard and Evelyn "May" Drayer will be held 1-3 p.m., Sunday, January 5, 2014, at Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Service, 1034 Benner Pike, State College. A joint memorial service will follow at 3 p.m. at the funeral home with the Reverend Christopher Thomas officiating.
