Christian Amos Goodall July 3, 1981 - November 2, 2010 Christian Amos Goodall, died Nov. 2, 2010, at the home he shared with his parents in State College. Born July 3, 1981, Christian is survived by his mother and father, Casey and Amos Goodall, his sister, Hawley and her husband, Jeff Scull, as well as his beloved rescue dog, Bailee. Christian graduated from State College High and earned a BA degree from Penn State in August, 2010. He enjoyed cinema, creative cooking, photography, exercising, and being with his many friends. Dear Goodall family,
I only spoke with Christian a few times where he worked, but I have never met anybody that I was so quickly moved by their spirit, with such loving, kind, caring, positive, and generous energy emanating from them. I can only imagine how beautifully wonderful of a person he was, I thought often of becoming friends, and wish I could of had the honor of knowing him; I am grateful for the few times I spoke with him.
With my deep sympathy,

To all that had the opportunity to know Christian;
My memories of Christian begin back at Easterly Parkway Elementary School. He was one of the funniest people I have ever met. Not only that, he was a sweet, sincere, caring person. I never had a bad experience when I was with Christian. We ended up living in the same apartment building in college, and I was blessed with having him in my life again.
He will truly be missed by all that he touched. My sincere sympathy goes out to his family and friends. May the memories Christian gave you let you smile.

So distraught we are that I do not even know how to or what to say to you, except that we lost our beloved son, friend, and brother.

I have been struggling to think and feel from Christian's view and all I see is love! He epitomized this and he leaves a legacy for us poor people, which we most direly need. As I say this, I see Christian's natural smile as if it understood all and healed all. A gift such is something to behold, something to be proud of! He shall live forever wherever he touched his life.

Amos, Casey, Hawley, and the family, you needn't be told that our hearts overflow with sorrow and also with God's love that gave us His wonderful son so close to us.

I grew up a block away from Christian. As I try to wrap my head around this incomprehensible loss, I keep scrambling for some solid memories of things we did together, moments we shared. But in the shock, grief, and the years since we were kids and then teenagers, it feels like when I try to remember events, my sad brain panics, and I can't grab onto anything solid.

What I'm left with though, is a palpable aura: the feeling of what it was like to be around Christian; to actually be near him. He had this presence--a kind of low hum of relaxed kindness. He made it feel okay to say nothing--for long periods of time--while sitting in his basement. Or to say a lot. At any time. Like on the phone, out of nowhere, on a Wednesday.

I also know that he was funny. Really funny. The kind of funny that waits dormant until striking at precisely the right second. Deadpan funny. Under the radar, brilliant, surprising funny.

He was also the first true cinephile I ever met, even as a kid, and when I look at my adult life, I find I've surrounded myself overwhelmingly with people who love movies the way that Christian did.

Another memory that keeps running through my knocked over, disoriented head is this:

The first day of junior high. I was terrified. Vomiting terrified. I was so scared to go to school I remember every second felt like it had weights attached to it. I walked out of my house, up the block, and there at the strange new bus stop, the place most rife with freaked-out adolescent anticipation, was you Christian. And you were nice to me. You were calm and you were funny and you were there, most of all you were there, with that sweet, kind, low hum. Thank you.

Rest in peace my friend.

With deepest sympathies to the Goodalls.

Casey, Amos, family, and friends. I came to know Christian through Monica. Although I was only in Christian's presence a handful of times I can tell you he had one of the best senses of humor, a smile that could light up a room, and a heart bigger than the sky. I hope you find just a little comfort in how many people his light has touched in such a short period of time. Prayers and healing love are going out to you.

To the Goodall family,

At this most difficult time I hope you can find some comfort in knowing how many lives Christian touched in his short 29 years of life. Mine was one of them. I felt so fortunate to have been friends with Christian for the past 17 years. We shared many memories together, mostly throughout high school and during the summers. Throughout our friendship, Christian was kind, thoughtful and most of all, extraordinarily funny. He could turn a boring math class into the most entertaining 45 minutes of my day. His sense of humor and smile brought so much happiness to everybody who knew him, and that is how I will remember my friend. I'll miss seeing Christian's face whenever I come home to visit. State College will never be the same without him. You all have my deepest sympathies. May you find strength together as a family.

The wonderful things you have done for others and this world remains forever.

My deepest sympathy to the Goodall family during this trying time. I pray that you find solace in the love that so many people have for Christian.

Christian and I were in FISH together and I will always cherish the fond memories I have of him. One of my favorite memories of Christian was from my senior year, which was probably Christian's sophomore year in high school. His father, Amos, was running for office and Christian asked if I would be in a campaign ad for him.

That was such a fun afternoon because of Christian's keen sense of humor. Everyone on the "set" was cracking up between takes because of Christian's jokes.

Christian, you were always quick to crack a joke and share a smile... you will be missed.

Rest in peace.

Hi Christian -
So many things I've yet to tell you, I wish you could stay for a little bit more.
I have my next speech presentation due in 2 weeks. Who will calm my nervousness?
We were supposed to go watch a movie in the theater - to satisfy your love for film, and also because you sat through Easy-A with me.
Remember how you were angry with me for being late to our dinner at Bellefonte? But how that was redeemed when you noticed how breathtaking it was with the setting rays against winding roads of the quaint ol' town, the delicious dinner at the old Italian restaurant, Jim's which you frequented when you were young.
You have provided me happiness, and love for the short period of time we spent together. You're something I will never forget for the entirety in my life, for you have taught me to be appreciative of what I have.
I miss you C, so extremely much. I just wish I could have been, that I should have been there.
Rest in peace, I will be seeing you again.
I love you.
