Robert Gummo Obituary

Robert R. Gummo Sr. November 9, 1941 - August 27, 2011 Robert R. Gummo Sr., 69, of Bellefonte, passed away at his home on Saturday, Aug. 27, 2011. Born on Nov. 9, 1941, in Bellefonte, he was a son of the late William F. and Agnes D. Yakich Gummo. Robert attended the Bellefonte Schools. He served in the National Guard during the Vietnam War. He was employed as a painter and drywall finisher for the International Union Painters and Allied Trade (IUPAT) until his retirement in November 2003. He was a member of the Bellefonte Kingdom Hall. Robert is survived by two children, Robert R. Gummo Jr. and his wife, Kimberly, of Bellefonte, and Lisa A. DeHaas and her husband, Timothy, of Howard; two brothers, Richard and John Gummo, both of Bellefonte; six sisters, Louise Kustenborder, of Huntingdon, Jeri Lowery, Bellefonte, Sandy Smeltzer, of Bellefonte, Connie Cramer, of Bellefonte, Sharon Gummo, of Bellefonte and Rebekah Gummo, of Philipsburg; three grandchildren; Will DeHaas, Holly Madilia, and Rachel Springstead; and seven greatgrandchildren. In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by two brothers, Joseph and William Gummo II. Family and friends will be received from 10 a.m.-noon on Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2011, at the Daughenbaugh Funeral Home, 106 W. Sycamore St., Snow Shoe. A memorial service will be held at noon Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2011, at the funeral home, with Donald Smeltzer and James Wiggins officiating. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Bellefonte Kingdom Hall, in care of James T. Quici, 562 Nittany Valley Drive, Bellefonte, PA 16823.
