Elwood L. (Woody) Gummo Jr. October 5, 1947 June 12, 2014 Elwood L. "Woody" Gummo Jr., 66, of Bellefonte, passed away Thursday, June 12, 2014, at Mount Nittany Medical Center. The son of the late Virginia (Plozner) Gummo and Elwood L. Gummo, Sr., he was born on October 5, 1947, in Bellefonte. He married the former Susan Sampsell, who survives at home. Woody was a 1966 graduate of Bellefonte Area High School. He was a lifetime member of the Undine Volunteer Fire Company #2 in Bellefonte. He was a retired self-employed auto mechanic. He was of the Protestant faith. Woody served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Era. For his service he received the National Defense Service Medal, the Good Conduct Medal and the Expert Badge M-14 M-16. Along with his wife, he is survived by his twin daughters, Brandi Gummo and her fiancee, Kevin Korman and Amber Gummo, all of Bellefonte; and two grandchildren, Raylan Korman and Karlee Gummo. Family and friends will be received Monday, June 16, 2014, from 1-2 p.m., at Wetzler Funeral Services, Inc., 206 N. Spring St, Bellefonte, PA, with a memorial service and military honors to follow visitation at 2:00 p.m., with Rev. Frank E. Skies officiating.
