Stanley M. Segner August 12, 1933 July 14, 2014 Stanley M. Segner, 80, formerly of Boalsburg, passed away on Monday, July 14, 2014, at Centre Crest. Born on August 12, 1933, in State College, Stanley was a son of the late Theodore B. and Florabelle (Holt) Segner. He was a 1951 graduate of State College Area High School and attended Penn State University. On April 11, 1959, Stanley married Jean M. Turner who preceded him in death on August 9, 2006. Stanley served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict and also in Northern Japan. Upon his return home, he was employed in construction for a short time. He then established his own business installing ceramic tile. Later he went to work for the U.S. Postal service as a mail carrier in Boalsburg on Route 1 from the time of its inception in 1961 until he retired August 31, 1988. He was a member of the National Rural Letter Carriers Association of Washington, D.C. Stanley enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing and being outdoors. He especially enjoyed spending quality time with friends. In accordance with Stanley's wishes, all services are private. Interment will be in Centre County Memorial Park in State College.
