Mary Jane Corl

Mary Jane Corl February 18, 1932 - August 5, 2011 Mary Jane Corl, 79, of rural Bellefonte, died Friday, Aug. 5, 2011, at Mount Nittany Medical Center in State College. She was born Feb. 18, 1932, a daughter of the late Leroy Walter and Nellie Elenor Monsell Scull. On April 13, 1952, she married Lynn H. Corl, who survives at home. Next year would mark their 60th wedding anniversary. Mary Jane was a 1950 graduate of Bellefonte High School. Early in life she worked at A. C. Turner, Wilsons Electronics, and Martin Insurance, all of Bellefonte. Mrs. Corl was a member of Valley View United Methodist Church and a 55 plus year member of Logan Grange in Pleasant Gap. She treasured spending time with her friends, family, and, especially, her grandchildren. Mary Jane was an avid and accomplished seamstress, enjoyed soap operas, bird watching, and was a fan of the Steelers and Pirates. Surviving her in addition to her husband are two daughters, Janet Herrold (Bob), of Spring Mills, and Wanda Adams (Darryl), of Bellefonte; one son, Galen R. Corl (Jacqueline), of Stormstown; six grandchildren, Craig (Erin) and Eric Herrold, Shane (Desiree) Adams and Kelly Miller (Eric), and Garrett and Brittany Corl; and one sister, Elizabeth Ann Waltz (Carl) of Howard. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Donald and Richard Scull. Friends will be received from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 7, 2011, at Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Service, 1034 Benner Pike, State College. The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Aug. 8, 2011, at the funeral hom,e with the Rev. Duane Bardo officiating. Burial will be at Centre County Memorial Park in State College.
