Shirley P. Wittmer August 28, 1934 December 17, 2012 Shirley P. Wittmer, 78, of Watsontown Health & Rehabilitation Center, formerly of Madisonburg, passed from this life on Monday, Dec. 17, 2012, at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville. Shirley, a daughter of the late Bruce R. and Sarah J. Korman Vonada, was born on August 28, 1934, in Woodward. She was a graduate of East Penns Valley High School. Shirley retired from Gettig Pharmaceutical in Spring Mills with 40 years of service. She was an avid shopper, loved eating at Country Cupboard, and enjoyed putting puzzles together. Shirley is survived by four sisters, Betty Reber (Harold), and Helen Matters (Truman), both of Mifflinburg, Susan Shively, of Millmont, and Linda Luse, of Aaronsburg; and one brother, Lester "Snap" Vonada (Dawn), of Woodward. Shirley was preceded in death by one sister, Gladys Boone; and five brothers, Seymore, Stewart, Dean, Ray and Donald Vonada. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, Dec. 20, 2012, from 10-11 a.m. at the Steven R. Neff Funeral Home in Millheim. The funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. with Pastor Cass Harbach officiating. Shirley will be laid to rest in Woodward Cemetery in Woodward.
