David R. LeRoy June 14, 1949 March 17, 2013 David R. LeRoy, 63, of State College, passed away on Sunday, March 17, 2013, at his residence. Born on June 14, 1949, in Butler, he is a son of Elizabeth "Betty" (Patratos) LeRoy, of Butler and the late Henry LeRoy. Mr. LeRoy was a graduate of Butler High School and attended Robert Morris University. While David had many enjoyable careers throughout his life, his passion was his nonprofit work in wetland conservation as a Regional Director with Ducks Unlimited. Later in life, he enjoyed his work in sales at Saturn of State College and Dix Honda. David was a member of Our Lady of Victory Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus, Father O'Hanlon Council #4678 in State College. A true outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing, camping, and being involved in scouting, in which he attained the rank of Eagle Scout as a youth. He also enjoyed gardening, woodworking, carpentry, and the companionship of the many hunting dogs he trained throughout his life. In addition to his mother, he is survived by two daughters, Lisa Clark (David), of Alachua, Fla., and Kristen LeRoy, of State College; two sons, Michael LeRoy, of High Springs, Fla., and Matthew LeRoy (Meredith), of State College; one brother, Gary LeRoy (Sandy), of Beaver Falls; and five grandchildren, Lindsey LeRoy, Georgia Clark, Audrey Clark, Wesley Clark, and Adelynn LeRoy. Family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until the time of the Blessing Service at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, March 20, 2013, at the Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Services, 1034 Benner Pike, State College. Officiating the Blessing Service will be Monsignor David Lockard. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family.
