Dennis R. Mowery February 13, 1955 June 12, 2013 Dennis R. Mowery, 58, of Huntingdon, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 12, 2013, in the ER at J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital, Huntingdon. He was born on Feb. 13, 1955, in Woodland, Clearfield County, the son of the late James Albert Mowery and Geraldine "Jerry" (Lansberry) Mowery, of Pleasant Gap. He was united in marriage to Lori (Clemens) Mowery on Sept. 3, 1983, in Pleasant Gap. His wife survives at their home. Along with his father, Mr. Mowery was preceded in death by his son, Shawn Albert Mowery, who died on June 19, 2010. He is survived by a son from a previous marriage, Bronson Tate, of State College. Also surviving are a brother and sister, Jeffrey Mowery, of Deerfield Beach, Fla. and Pamela Fohner and husband, Rusty, of Fairfield. He graduated from Bellefonte High School, Class of 1973, and honorably served in the U.S. Air Force from 1974 till 1978, as a senior airman. Mr. Mowery worked as a correctional officer at SCI-Rockview from 1983 till 2008. He was a member of the 15th Street United Methodist Church, Huntingdon. He enjoyed fishing and boating and was a member of Raystown Striper Club. He also enjoyed hunting, especially on trips to the Midwest. The funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Monday, June 17, 2013, at the Robert D. Heath Funeral Home, Mount Union, with Pastor Fred Hickok officiating. Interment will be in Huntingdon Memorial Gardens. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Sunday, June 16, 2013, from 7-9 p.m.; and on Monday, from 9 a.m. till the time of the service.
