Robert (Bob) A. Ripka June 19, 1938 September 10, 2013 Robert "Bob" A. Ripka, 75, of State College, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 10, 2013, at his residence. Born on June 19, 1938 in Bellefonte, he is a son of the late William Ezra and Nellie Elmira (Meyer) Ripka. On July 3, 1958, at the Houserville E.U.B Church in State College, he was married to Sally Ann (Struble) Ripka, who survives at home. Mr. Ripka was the owner and operator of W.E. Ripka and Sons Auto Repair in State College. Bob was a member of the Houserville UMC House of Hope and a social member of the VFW Post 321 in State College. He was also a proud life member of the Alpha Fire Company, serving the community for over 26 years. Bob also drove Ambulance and served on the Fire Police for Alpha Fire Company. Earlier in life, he was a member and played bugle for the American Legion and Auxiliary Junior Drum and Bugle Corps in State College. Mr. Ripka enjoyed camping, but especially cherished the time spent with his family and friends. In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children, Robert William Ripka (Susan E.), of State College, Stephen Vincent Ripka (Jan), of State College, Timothy Allen Ripka (Shawnee), of Bellefonte and Christina Ripka-Hodges (Keith), of State College; three sisters, Jean M. Dreese, of State College, Phyllis L. Hertzog (Kenneth), of State College and Darlene M. Ripka, of State College; 12 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, John "Jack" W. Ripka. Family will receive friends from 68 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 12, 2013, at the Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Services, 1034 Benner Pike, State College and from 1011 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 13, 2013, at the Houserville UMC House of Hope, 1320 Houserville Road, State College, PA 16801. Memorial Services will be held on Friday, Sept. 13, 2013, beginning at 11 a.m. from the Houserville UMC House of Hope, with the Reverend Renee Ford officiating. Interment will be private and at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions in Bob's memory can be made to the Houserville UMC House of Hope, 1320 Houserville Road, State College, PA 16801 or to the Home Nursing Agency Hospice, 450 Windmer Drive, Suite 100, State College, PA 16801.
