Richard B. Hefty, Sr. July 21, 1930 December 21, 2013 Richard B. Hefty, Sr. 83, of Bellefonte passed from this life at Mount Nittany Medical Center on December 21, 2013 to his heavenly home. Born July 21, 1930 in Trenton, New Jersey. Richard was the son of the late James and Anna Varhol Hefty. He was predeceased by three brothers and six sisters. Richard was first married to Dorothy Smires who preceded him in death in 1994. Richard then married Judith Watson Armstrong in 1995. Richard graduated from Temple University and retired as a vocational instructor from Bucks County Technical School, Levittown, PA. He was a Korean War veteran having served in the US Army Artillery. In his younger years he enjoyed teaching Sunday School, Bible Classes, and volunteering in many areas of his church. He was a member of Calvary Bible Church, Centre Hall, PA and enjoyed attending services Richard is survived by his wife, Judith of Bellefonte; son, Richard B. Hefty, Jr. (Annette) of Greenville, SC; stepchildren, Cathy Kalmbach (Tim) of Pleasant Gap, Jacqulyn Armstrong, and Susan Heimer (Glenn) of Bellefonte, Russell Armstrong (Mae) of rural Bellefonte; four grandchildren, ten step-grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Saturday, December 28 at 11:00 am at Calvary Bible Church. Officiated by Pastor Rick Gilbaugh. Burial will be private according to his wishes. He will be laid to rest at the Advent Cemetery, Boggs Twp., Centre County, PA. Arrangements by Dean K. Wetzler Funeral Home, Milesburg, PA.
