John E. (Bud) Keller Sr. August 17, 1920 March 27, 2014 John E. "Bud" Keller, Sr., 93, of Spring Mills formerly of Continental Courts, died Thursday, March 27, 2014, at Mount Nittany Medical Center at State College He was born August 17, 1920, in Pine Grove Mills, a son of the late John L. and Maude (Rudy) Keller. On November 16, 1940, he married Marjorie K. Keller who preceded him in death on November 11, 2010. Bud graduated from Boalsburg High School in 1940, and was WWII Navy veteran serving as a fireman 1st class. He was assistant supervisor of vending services in the housing and food services department of Penn State, retiring June 29, 1988, after 15 years of service. Bud was also the owner and operator of the Mobil Station in Boalsburg and Phillips 66 in State College. He was a life member of the Pine Grove VFW, the Pleasant Gap American Legion and the BPOE # 1600 in State College Bud was an avid Penn State football fan, and traveled to see their bowl games. Surviving Bud are two sons, Thomas W. Keller and his wife, Doris, of Spring Mills and John E. Keller, Jr. and his wife, Karen, of Centre Hall; five grandchildren; and six great grandchildren, including two special great grandsons, Josh Mulbarger and Kyle Blachard. Preceding him in death were his parents; wife; and three sisters, Izella K. Ballinger, Grace Wheland and Pauline Hoy; and one, brother William H. Keller. Friends will be received from 10-1 a.m. Monday, March 31, 2014, at Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Service, 1034 Benner Pike, State College, PA. The funeral will follow immediately at 11 a.m. with the Reverend Alison S. Bowlan officiating. Burial will follow in Centre County Memorial Park, 1032 Benner Pike, State College.
