I remember carpooling to Marrington, stopping to save a dog running across the road, a dog that tried to bite us. I remember a baby, now a man, who saw Russ's furry face and said, “Dog.” To which Chris replied, “He isn't the only one who has called Russ that.” I remember “first year teacher moments” when Chris shared her wisdom, teaching me how to work with kids and then said, “He/She is lucky to have you.” I remember her at my 50th birthday, smiling with other women giants at my party; the picture is by my back door, and I look at it daily. I remember hearing, too late, that Chris had left us, feeling empty and sad. I remember laughter, and now tears, shed for my friend and the memories that will sustain us all.

Dear Russ and Family,

We are so sad to hear about Chris. We have been neighbors for many years, but only recently met as I saw her out running the neighborhood and I too enjoy running. She always had a smile even while running uphill on Pine St! She will be surely missed. Russ, we will keep you and your family in our prayers.

I will miss Chris a lot. She made sure that we always saw each other at the Cow and hugged at least once. When I was down she would say something funny to cheer me up. And she made me appreciate the "sparkle" in my life. I love you Chris!!

I'm so sorry to learn that Cris has died. We will all miss her; Cris touched so many of our lives in positive ways. You could count on her to bake your favorite birthday cake or lend assistance any way she could. We've been yoga buddies and good friends for many years. My condolences and prayers to her family. Cris and our fond memories of her will continue to shine on in our hearts and minds.

Chris was a bright sparkling presence at the yoga studio where she came to class almost everyday. She always had a big hug and a warm smile ready to share. I know all of the teachers there and her fellow students will miss her and send deepest sympathy to her family.
