Frances Horne Obituary

Frances Crosby Horne ST. GEORGE, SC - Mrs. Frances Crosby Horne, 86, widow of William Shuler (Bill) Horne entered into eternal rest on Sunday December 9, 2012 at Trident Regional Medical Center, Charleston. Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Thursday at the Bryant Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Clay Shook officiating. Burial will follow in the St. George Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour before service. Pallbearers will be Roy Judy, Ralph Reeves, David Myers, Pinckney Murray, Bobby McKinnon and Joe Wamer. Frances was born September 28, 1926 in Ridgeland, Jasper County, SC, a daughter of the late Winfred Vanis and Jennie Mae Cleland Crosby. She was a member of Memorial Baptist Church, a retired school teacher having taught math in Georgetown and Chicora High School in North Charleston. She was also engaged in farming and real estate. She was a 1946 graduate from Winthrop College and she did graduate work at both Winthrop and the University of South Carolina. Surviving is a sister, Beatrice Clarke, Tallmadge, Ohio; a niece, Sandra Clarke, Akron, Ohio, her caregiver and special cousin, Susie Horne (Ralph) Reeves, Reevesville and her special caregivers, Emma Green and Lizzie Fair. Memorials may be made to St. George United Methodist Church, Mission's Day, PO Box 506, St. George, SC 29477 or the church of your choice.
