P. Wayne McKnight MONCKS CORNER - P. Wayne McKnight, 69, of Moncks Corner, SC, a retired chief of maintenance for the Army Corps of Engineers, died Sunday morning, March 17, 2013, at his residence. His memorial service will be 11:00 AM Friday morning, March 29, 2013, in the Cordesville First Baptist Church, directed by DIAL-MURRAY FUNERAL HOME, MONCKS CORNER. The family will receive friends at the church from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Thursday evening. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the charity fund of Portage Lodge #220 AFM Masonic Hall, 1008 Edgar St., Hollidaysburg, PA 16648. Mr. McKnight was born June 6, 1943, in Moncks Corner, SC, a son of Philip Nesmith McKnight and Olive Bishop McKnight. He was a 1962 graduate of Berkeley High School where he played football on the 1960 State Championship Team, and he also served in the US Coast Guard during Vietnam. He was a member of both the Cordesville First Baptist Church and the Williamsburg Church of the Brethren in Williamsburg, PA, where he served as a Past Chairman of the Board. Mr. McKnight was the Master of Portage Lodge #220 AFM in both 1996 and 2000. He was a member of the Jaffa Shrine and the ROJ and was a former member of the Scottish Rite and the Tall Cedars of Lebanon. Mr. McKnight also owned and operated his own carpet and installation business. Surviving are, his wife, Linda Bailey McKnight; two sons, Frank McKnight and his wife, Kelly, and Tim McKnight and his wife, Nikki, all of Williamsburg, PA; three sisters, Phyllis McKnight, Frances Wilder, and Alva Williams all of Moncks Corner; two brothers, Eddie McKnight and Jerry McKnight both of Moncks Corner; and eight grandchildren, Phillip, Tia, Zach, Andrea, Andrew, Katlin, Mara, and Roni.
