William Bazar, Jr. CHARLESTON - William Robert Bazar, Jr, age 94 and widower of Alice A. (Reeder) Bazar, died peacefully on Monday, October 15, 2012. A native of Charleston, he was a son of William Robert, Sr. and Maude (Cullen) Bazar, both of whom preceded him in death. A welder by trade, he worked primarily for the Charleston Naval Shipyard in North Charleston, and continued to teach his trade through courses offered at Trident Technical College. Mr. Bazar served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II, and continued his service in the National Guard and Coast Guard Reserves. Mr. Bazar is survived by his 3 children: 1 son Bobby Bazar (William R., III) and wife Julie of Dover, TN, 2 daughters: Elaine Richter and husband Ernest of Charleston, SC and Cheryl McDonald of Charleston, SC; 8 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, 1 Brother, Basil Bazar, and 1 Sister, Delores Altman. In addition to his wife, Mr. Bazar was preceded in death by 1 Grandchild, 1 Brother, Louis Bazar, and Sister, Helen Carroll. The relatives and friends of Mr. William R. Bazar, Jr. are invited to attend his Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am Thursday, October 18, 2012, from St. John's Catholic Church, 3921 St. John's Avenue, North Charleston. The Rite of Committal will follow immediately at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening between 5:00 and 7:00 PM at James A. McAlister Funeral Home. Uncle William when you get to heaven please say hello to Momma for me and daddy. You were loved and will be missed by your brother and niece. I am sorry Bobby,Elaine and Cheryl that we cannot be there for you as you were for me but know we love you and will be thinking of you.
