Josephine Miller Simonds CHARLESTON - Josephine Miller Simonds of Charleston, South Carolina, wife of Charles Rees Simonds, entered into eternal rest Tuesday, February 26, 2013. Her funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at 11 o'clock AM in St. Michael's Church, 71 Broad Street. Interment will take place in St. Michael's churchyard. The family will receive family and friends at a reception following the service in the Parish Hall. Jo was born June 13, 1939 in Atlanta, Georgia, daughter of the late Henry J. Miller and Nancy Kamper Miller. She was a graduate of the Westminster Schools in Atlanta and the University of Alabama where she earned her bachelor's degree. She was a member of the Colonial Dames, the Junior League of Charleston and St. Michael's Church. She is survived by her husband of Charleston, SC; son, Charles R. Simonds, Jr. and his wife Deirdre of New York and granddaughter, Alexandra Calhoun Rutledge Simonds. She was predeceased by her daughter, Julia Mayrant Rees Simonds and her brother Henry J. Miller, Jr. Jo was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother and friend to many. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Michael's Church, 71 Broad Street, Charleston, SC 29401.
