Sidney C. Goff Jr.

Sidney C. Goff LONG BRANCH, NJ - Sidney C. Goff, Jr., 84, of Long Branch, NJ, entered eternal life on Saturday, March 23rd at Monmouth Medical Center, Long Branch. Mr. Goff was employed by the US Postal Service working in the Lincroft post office for 20 years, retiring in 1992. He was a past Grand Master of the Masonic Lodge and was a member of the Elks Lodge. Mr. Goff was a veteran of the United States Army, serving for over 20 years during both the Korean and Vietnam wars. He and his family lived at various military bases in Europe and the United States before he moved his family to Red Bank and then Long Branch in 1971. Born in Charleston, SC, he was predeceased by his parents, Sidney C. Goff, Sr. and Hester M. Goff, three sisters, Virginia Owens, Eliza Mae Brooks, and Helen LeBlanc Disher and his eldest daughter, Rominta F. Goff. Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Betty A. Donahue Goff, four sons and three daughters-in-law, Sydney C. Goff, III (Veronica C. Taylor Goff) of Asbury Park, NJ, Jerome A. Goff (Joanne M. Goff) of Eatontown, NJ, Roger C. Goff (Karen C. Goff) of Jackson, NJ and Micah D. Goff of Long Branch, NJ; two daughters, Marlana P. Goff of Cincinnati, OH, and Stacey A. Goff of Linden, NJ, one brother and sister-in-law, Leroy B. Goff (Gloria Goff) of Charleston, SC, one aunt, Mattie Goff of Ridgeville, SC, one brother in-law and sister-in-law, Frank Donahue (Gloria Donahue), Augusta, GA, and one sister-in law, Ahtea Robinson of Pikesville, MD. He is loved and cherished by his grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of family friends. The viewing will be Saturday, March 30th at 10:00 am, with funeral services beginning at 11:00 am at Second Baptist Church, 93 Liberty Street, Long Branch, NJ, 07740 immediately followed by the repast at the Bucky James Center Community Center, Long Branch, NJ. Interment with full military honors will be at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA, at a later date. The Flock Funeral Home, Long Branch, NJ is in charge of arrangements.
