Roger McIver Bostick Jr.

Roger McIver Bostick, Jr. ESTILL, SC - Mr. Roger McIver Bostick, Jr., 82, of Augusta Stage Coach Rd near Estill, SC died at his residence Thursday morning February 28, 2013. Born June 3, 1930 in Memphis, TN, he was the son of the late Roger Bostick, Sr. and Alta Smith Bostick. Mr. Bostick served his country in the United States Air Force and was an Engineer with Westinghouse Corporation. He also worked in the family farm service business in Mississippi for many years. He was a member of the American Legion, the Lions Club, and a volunteer Fireman. Mr. Bostick enjoyed flying and was a private pilot for many years. He pastored a small church in Wyoming for 10 years. He served as a Missionary to Zimbabwe and volunteered later as a construction worker for Wycliff Bible Translation. He was a member of the Open Arms Church in Hampton. Surviving besides his wife of the home, Rita Poe Bostick, are two daughters: Terri Bostick of Sparks, Nevada, and Leigh B. Womble and husband Will of Woodstock, GA, and Benoit, MS, two grandsons: Wesley and Barry Womble and several cousins. Funeral services will be held Saturday March 2, 2013 at 2 P.M. in the Robertville Baptist Church conducted by Pastor Will Womble and Pastor James Porter and directed by Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Bostick Cemetery in Garnett, SC with Military Honors. Friends may call at the church beginning 1 P.M. on Saturday prior to the service.
