Wayne "Pedro" Bennett WALTERBORO - Mr. Wayne Keith Bennett, known by all as "Pedro", age 26, of Walterboro, passed away Saturday evening, October 15, 2016, at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon, October 22, 2016, from the Walterboro Christian Center, 320 Robertson Boulevard, Walterboro. The Reverend Jadon Buckner will officiate. Interment will follow in Glendale Memorial Cemetery, 2210 Mount Carmel Road, Walterboro. Born June 28, 1990 in Walterboro, he was a son of Greg Daniel Bennett and the late Sarah Herndon Bennett. A legend in his own way and most popular through Tristate Street Racing, he will always be remembered as the one and only "Pedro Bennett". He truly loved racing and spent countless hours on his '93 Blue Mustang. Along with his passion for racing was his work, he was dedicated to his business. He, along with his father, operated Bennett Heating and Air. Pedro will be fondly remembered by countless people for his strong work ethic, love of racing, humorous whit, and desire to help others. Another of his pastimes was fishing. Surviving are: his father, Greg Bennett and Katie Padgett of Walterboro; his wife, Katelyn Andrea Padgett; beloved "sons", his Pomeranians: Pebbles, Blitz, and Teddy; brothers, Charles Padgett of Walterboro and Clyde Padgett, III of Walterboro; and his grandparents, Jackie Chapman and Wayne Davis of Round O. He is survived by a loving host of family to include three aunts, Julie (Will) Pellum, Barbara Walden, and Miriam (Eugene) Morris; four uncles, Bo (Keeley) Chapman, Elmo (Chrissy) Chapman, Ricky Herndon, and Ronnie (Katie) Herndon; and many cousins as well as a large host of friends to include those he considered to be more than brothers, Maurice (Mara) Singleton and Tanner (Brooke) Hudson. He was preceded in death by a brother, Greg Daniel Bennett, Jr. and grandparents, Ruth and Romaine Herndon.
