Cheryl DuBois WALTERBORO - Mrs. Cheryl Padgett DuBois, 65, of Walterboro, entered into her eternal rest at her daughter's residence Friday evening, November 2, 2012, surrounded by her loving family and under the care of Odyssey Health Care Hospice. She was for thirty-three years the wife of Mr. Larry Franklin DuBois until his death in October of 2009. Funeral services will be conducted 3 o'clock Monday afternoon, November 5, 2012, from The Brice W. Herndon and Sons Funeral Chapel, Walterboro. The Reverend Ken McCaskill and The Reverend Gordon Ackerman officiating. Interment will follow in Glendale Memorial Cemetery, 2210 Mount Carmel Road, Walterboro. A native of Smoaks, South Carolina, she was born March 24, 1947 and was a daughter of the late Sammie Kermit Padgett, Sr. and the late Mable Carter Padgett. In earlier years, she was a seamstress with Vestra Industries in Smoaks. It was through her admiration and love of children that she for twenty years owned and operated Cheryl's Day Care in Walterboro. She was a member of Peniel United Methodist Church. She will be fondly remembered for her love of life, the contagious smile she possessed, and the dedicated wife and partner she was to her late husband, Larry. She always centered her life around her loving family and those she loved, enjoying trips to Edisto Beach and shopping. Surviving are: three daughters, Jamie DuBois Givens and her husband Scott of Ruffin, Jennifer DuBois of Walterboro, and Libby DuBois-Costa and her husband Michael of Beaufort; and three brothers, Sam K. Padgett, Jr. of Ruffin, Carol Gene Padgett of Ruffin, and Dale Padgett of Walterboro. There are seven grandchildren and two great grandchildren who also survive. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Marshall Padgett and Charles Padgett; and a sister, Ardis Linder. The family wishes to express their heartfelt appreciation to Mrs. Gwen Fair for the love and care she provided to Cheryl during her illness.
