Edith Gualtieri WALTERBORO - Mrs. Edith Walsh Fennell Gualtieri, of Walterboro, passed away Friday evening at her residence. She was 88. Edith was born in Jasper County June 26, 1923 a daughter of the late Edward F. Walsh and Lula Freeman Walsh. She retired from E.I. DuPont as a travel consultant and was also a former receptionist for the Fred Parker Funeral Home. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Walterboro and was preceded in death by husbands Walter W. Fennell and Albert L. Gualtieri. She is survived by three step-children: Frances F. Limehouse and husband H.B. "Buck" of Greenpond, George W. Fennell and wife Sandra of Charleston, and Melinda F. Shambley and husband Dr. Mark O. Shambley of Charleston. There are two sisters, Edna Smith of Grays and Allie Mixson of Varnville as well as a special niece Mary Ann Walsh of Hampton. She was predeceased by her nephew Luther Walsh. Graveside funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 1:00 in the Beaver Dam Baptist Church Cemetery near Grays. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 5-7 PM at the funeral home.
